The Many Faces!!

I worry some days if I will be able to handle these girls, heck I worry everyday if I will be able to handle these girls. Today after church I took some pictures of them in their new matching dresses I made this week. In 5 minutes I saw about 30 different faces, emotions and reactions from the two of them, that is 30 each, not together!!! Each one is going to require different parenting on my part and I am entirely unprepared for this! So I thought I would share and let you get a good laugh at my worries! And if truth be told my joys, because nothing makes me happier then being the Mommy to these two little angels (part time demons)!

O'Fluffy Mail Goodness

I hesitate to post about this because I know the 5 people who read this already think I'm crazy, and this will probably cement that opinion. But I wanted to post about something that makes me insanely happy, like Tanya's orderly happy world!

I cloth diaper, not the old school 1950 cloth diapering, hip, cute cloth diapering. I LOVE it!! Yes I have to wash them, No they don't leave poo in my washing machine, no the house doesn't smell like pee/poo. I put them, after they have been used, in a pail, with a lid, that is lined with a washable bag. I have been cloth diapering now for almost a year. Addie has recently started to outgrow her first diapers, so I hit the internet in search of new ones. They all came in the mail this week. Hence the phrase fluffy mail. On websites were cdiapers post and chat they always refer to the diapers in the mail that way. It made my week. I love my new ones. Most are a brand called Fuzy bunz. I have some Houte Pockets, Happy Hineys, Pocket Change, Swaddlebees.... pretty fun names. They are pocket diapers, meaning I put a insert made out of absorbent material into the diaper between the outershell and the inerliner. Addie loves her diapers, we do have disposables in the house for babysitters, and daddy when he doesn't feel up to it(his choice). If I ask Addie to go get a diaper she brings me her cloth, even though she can get the disposables too. So as you can see from the picture cloth diapers are bulkyer then disposables, so we are always patting that big bum and calling her are badonka bum! There I have convinced you I am all crazy. To bad I love it!!

Fort Williams

When we were kids one of the funest things I remember doing is building a fort inside. Chad and I would make asome ones where we took the dining room table chairs, and every available blanket. I also remember playing Man From Snowy River.... thats off the subject... anyway. Maisie loves making forts. So We have helped her make one in the corner of the living room. She loves sleeping in there, she even set up the portable dvd player. She has dishes, shelves, you name it. She quite literaly has set up house. We laughingly call it Fort Williams. It has actually been up for a few weeks now. Not sure how we are going to break it to her that it eventually needs to come down. As long as It isn't in my way, and she keeps her room clean it can stay for a while. Only a kid once. Addie love it in there too.

Princess Tutu

Because we have 2 girls, we get to go to lots of little girl birthday partys. I have been racking my brain for some new ideas for things to give these little ones. Because like me I know there moms don't need or want a million more toys, excpecially those $%* Polly Pockets. So I found a pattern to make this Tutu. It is quick and easy and was a huge hit. The little girl I made it for loved it. Maisie was non to thrilled to see it leave the house. It killed me not to tell her I am making her and Addie ones for Valentines Day. We have another party this Saturday and the mom asked if I would do one for her daughter too.. lol... sure!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Addies way or no way!

We have learned that things with Addie are a little different then they where with Maisie. Maisie was easy going and didn't put up to big of a fuss over much. Addie on the other had has some pretty strong ideas about life already. This picture makes me laugh because it shows her at one of those "o boy" moments. She is quick to get ticked off at you and just as quick to give you a snuggle and a love. She is so much fun and keeps us all laughing. She really believes she is at least 5 like her sister. And she won't keep her hair piggys in for very long. She and I are going rounds on this one!!!! Sound familiar Mom???

Way to Go Maisie!

Maisie had her second quarter academic assembley this last Thursday. She was in the top 5 of her class again. She was awarded top of her class for the first quarter. She wanted to know if we would be more proud of her if she was in the top 8 or top10. We had to explain to her that top 5 was better... Her teachers says she is a great kid and is doing excellent. We are so proud of her!!

PICTURES!!!

I'm bad, I know, time to update this stupid blog. And I have pictures to do it with!!!

First up.... Maisie lost 2 teeth in the last 2 weeks!!! I had to whip out a toothfairy pillow in a day while she was at school so that she would have one to put her tooth in right away. These things are very important to Maisie. Mom made such cute ones for us when we were little I wanted her to have one. I just didn't think she would need it so young!!

Second up.... A few weeks ago I was getting the girls dressed for the day and there was a laundry basket full of clean clothes in my room needing to be put away. Addie went digging in it and brought me her puffy slip and her pink slippers (who am i kidding everything is pink in this house). She put them in my lap. I laughed and said no Addie we need to wear real clothes today it's cold. I tried to show her pants and a shirt, she kept sticking the slip in my face. Finally she got mad and threw the slippers at my head. I couldn't stop laughing. 20 month olds are not suppost to have opintions about there clothes. So we compromised, I let her wear the slip and slippers, she had to put a long sleeve shirt and tights on under. She wore it all day. Even to the bus stop!! I had fun explaining that one to Bran when he got home!!!

Third up.... We are up to our eyeballs in snow!!! Boise is in some kind of "banana belt" they say so our weather is milder compared to the rest of the state. Not so this winter. We have had 2 snow days at school. Church was canceled today, and nobody around here can drive in this stuff! We rarely have snow that lasts longer then a day!! Now we are shoveling and trying to find a place to sled! And the counties can't deal with the snow, they don't have enough plows or sanders to make a dent!! I have been seeing regular City trucks full of sand and men with shovels spreading sand at intersections. Poor suckers.
