To sew or not to sew...

I'm trying to get ready for this new little one, and to do that I need to get all his little diapers made. I made this one for Addie, obviously it's pink and that would never do for a little boy. I am just trying to perfect the pattern before I start making a bunch, and I need to see how they fit on a baby. I have also started making some cute burp clothes. I also got some fun fabric to make a nursing cover. I am trying to find the perfect fabric to make his nursery with. That's a tough one!! I want to make some things for this little guy. I feel bad I can't make him a blessing gown, or dozens of dresses, don't know what to do for him..... Going to have to think about this. With Brannon gone, I get the bug to sew more than normal. I really should be folding laundry, maybe tomorrow. O by the way Brannon got his cast off today in Arkansas.. He is sore but glad to have it off. His stitches look horrible, and he says he is going to have a nasty scare. On a fun note, we met our new neighbor today. Her name is Tish and she has two daughters, one 9 and one 15. Our girls played together for hours today!!! They had a great time. We are really excited because we don't have to many little girls around here to play with!! And Tish is starting beauty school in a week.... so I'm going to be getting my hair done cheap!( in a few months or so!!)

Sorry folks I couldn't get this picture rotated. With brannon gone for a few weeks I get bored. So on Sunday I made these little pj's for the girls. They love when I make them jammies, and wanted to show them off. We sent a picture of them to Daddy so he could appreciate them too. Finishing them was a bit of a job because Addie wanted to be held and be in my lap. I had to reason with her that I couldn't get hers done if I was holding her. Luckily they come together really fast!! We miss our Dad!

Trapping

Maisie came home from school on St. Patricks day wanting to trap a leprechaun! What was I supposed to say??? She built 2 different ones and bated them with shinny pennies. She washed them and everything because leprechauns like shinny things. She really wanted to sleep on the floor by them so she would know if any came and if she got any. Obviously that was a big no. So at 2 am I went downstairs to check on the traps and those sneaky little leprechauns got the money and left little green foot prints all over my tile too!! Maisie bolted out of bed and ran downstairs in the morning and was so disappointed that she didn't catch any. I had to explain that they are tricky and fast! And that they only come once a year. She wanted to leave the traps out for a few more days. She is so cute and fun, and comes up with the most creative things!!

Medical Mayham!

It has been a very busy week for us. We have had not 1 but 4 medical concerns this week. First Addie is sick again and we are working with her regular doctor to get her to a ear, nose and throat specialist to get her tonsils out. What fun! We finally got the results back from Maisie's biopsy on her moles or beauty marks as she calls them. Not good results and we have had to schedule a surgery for April 6 th( i think) to have a pediatric surgeon remove several from her head. She also is going to have to have several others looked at and possibly biopsied too. She is not in love with this at all. We try not to talk about this much because tears inevitably occur! Brannon had surgery on his wrist Friday. He had a ganglion sist on his right wrist that is interfering with blood flow to his hand. They had to put him under and give him a block. The doctor told me they had to really dig around in his bones to get it all out because it had spread out a lot. They also had to mess with his main artery that was in their because it was in the way. So Bran is in a cast and is quite sore. Poor guy!! Amid all this everyone around us has the flu including people who have been watching the girls for us as we have a billion appointments. We are holding our breath that none of us get it. Starting yesterday I began having some painful contractions during church. I talked to an on call dr who said to come in there were more that 6 an hour. I did not want to make a late night trip to Boise to sit in an ER forever so I waited until this morning and called my dr. I went to Boise and they ran a test to see if I am in preterm labor. Thankfully I am not, and I don't have any infections, which was the other concern. They said rest and lots of water. I feel a little drowned right now from all the water I am drinking. Thankfully Bran stayed home today so he could take me to the dr. and I could rest. A sweet friend Michelle brought us dinner!! Lucky us she is a great cook!! It is weeks like this one that I am truly grateful for wonderful friends who help, love and support our family. Not having family around really sucks and having great friends means the world to us!! So thank you all who have called, and helped! We really appreciate all of you!!

IT'S A BOY!!!

I hope nobody thinks this picture is obscene! I just know there are some out there who are not going to believe we are really having a boy. This is a very girlly household, so we are going to need to man up a bit for our new little man!! Brannon is excited, no jumping up and down, just a big smile! And a little shock. We really thought we were going to have a houseful of girls!! Brannon is such a good girl Daddy. But it will be wonderful for him to have a little guy too! I am a little worried about a boy. I have no ideas for a nursery and girl cloth diapers are so much cuter then boys! Lame I know but that is how my brain is working today. I am very excited though!! Just need to give it all a lot of thought. Any ideas for names and a nursery? And before any of you say it Dallas for a name, and Dallas Cowboy nursery's are out!! To over the top for me. I'm not apposed to a few things but not an entire nursery!

WHAT?

Let me start off with telling you all how much I love my husband!! He is the best. He is such a good Dad and husband. I don't deserve him. Having said that, let me share with you what he gave me for my birthday. Remember Bran is a huge Dallas Cowboys fan. I opened up my package and its a Dallas jersey. Ok I'm down with that, we've been looking for a cheap one for me, preferably pink. Then I open the second package,, another jersey, different colors! I about died laughing on the spot as did my parents! Bran was so excited to give me those jerseys!! He was so proud he had found a good deal on them and was so nervous I wouldn't like them. He even pointed out he got 2 differnt sizes so I would always have one to fit, even when I am pregnant! I do love them, but one would have been enough. It is clear to me that if I don't make myself abundantly clear on what I would like for holidays, I get what I get!! In future, you are welcome to give him suggestions! So, for a birthday I will never forget because my goofy lovable husband gave me Dallas Cowboy jerseys, I am grateful!

The funny things kids say.

While Mom and Dad were her Maisie said some of the funniest things!! We were watching some tv and she was drawing or painting in the kitchen and she ask me. "Mom, who is my birth mom?" Mom and I about died laughing!!

Birthdays, 7 and 30!

My baby is 7 years old! My moms baby is 30 years old! I am not loving this!!! Maisie had a great birthday. Nana and Papa were able to come down this year so it was extra special. She had her party and Brannon brought home an ice cream cake that we both love. I survived the 10 little 7 years old and all the mayhem they bring. I think Mom might still be recovering from the ordeal!! Brannon hid upstairs for most of the time!!! Can't say I blame him.

Mom and Dad took us out to dinner which was yummy. Problem is Dad is a better cook then most restaurants so eating at home was just as great. My best birthday present was Dad helped me cook up some meals to freeze for the days I am really sick!!! He also made his homemade spaghetti sauce which we canned! 11 jars of yummy sauce! I can't tell you how much of a help this is!!!! I can go to the freezer and pull out a container and tada! Dinner! One that actually taste good! I think Brannon is more grateful than I am! Mom with her never ending supply of energy cleaned and organized closets, did laundry, and help me cut out fabric for Addies promise stitch quilt! As well as finished 19 of her own blocks!! She also helped me finish 19 little gift bags for the party! And Dad defrosted my freezer and Mom organized all the freezers!! The energy these two have amazes me and I get tired just watching them!! I am so grateful for parents who see and help meet needs for me. That is the best gift they could give me right now!!

It goes without saying that Maisie and Addie had a ball with Nana and Papa. Mom came into town a few days before Dad, and Addie would not stop asking where Papa was. She was so happy when he got here!! Each morning when she woke up the first words out her mouth were Nana? Papa? The morning after they left and she woke up and they weren't here, she was so sad!! Kept looking for them and I think she blamed me.

Valentines Day

Nana and Papa sent pj's to the girls for

Valentines day this year. They love them. Addie wore hers for 4 nights. Finally got them off her to wash!! Maisie wore hers on pj day at school!! Great get Nana!! A year or two ago our family started a tradition. We have 4 Valentine baskets that we set out for a few days before the holiday. During that time we all make valentines and picture, whatever really, and place them in our assigned baskets. Then after dinner on Valentines Day we get to go threw everything. It is hopefully teaching the girls to express their love and appreciation for their family members. At the very least we have a lot of fun and the girls love doing it!!
